With roots in Sweden's industrial history

ANCHOR LÅS AB has a long tradition of developing and producing locks in Eskilstuna.

Zetterberg marked his product with an anker. Approved products from Eskilstuna was marked with a crowned E which proved good quality.

In 1873 the factory was bought by Eskilstuna Jernmanufaktur AB (Jernbolaget). Jernbolaget made doorclosers and for example kitchenscales. Here you can see the production of the scales.

Eskilstuna Jernmanufaktur was making iceskates from 1920. The skates attached directly on the boot with a nut.

For a long time Jernbolaget was making hinges in the same location as ANCHOR LÅS still operate in. 1945 the production of hinges was sold to Stenmans (Assa).

Jernbolagets cataloge from 1958 contain a large amount of knives and cutlery.

In the 1960s Jernbolaget disposed of most of its manufacturing facilities and in 1965 AB Optimus bought the doorcloser manufacturing. AB Optimus then moved the manufacturing of doorclosers, locks and pumps to Anchorverken in 1972. The doorclosers became their main product.

Anchorverken was a privately owned company divided by four partners. At the end of the 1970s they employed about 100 persons. In 1980 the company was divided between the partners, the lockpart was bought by Erik Grunander who then founded ANCHOR LÅS. The doorclosing part was bought by the other three partners and later sold to Abloy. (Assa Abloy)

In 1994 Eriks son Bo Grunander bought the complete company. ANCHOR LÅS padlock with Grade 6, the highest securitygrade was entering the arena in 2007.

Tomas Eriksson bought the company in 2012 and in 2013 Robert Fredriksson joined as a partner and the company ANCHOR LÅS is now runned by them both towards the future.
